E-Scooter Drift Kart Wheel
The Challenge
Initial steering wheel design was too flexible and prone to snapping under stress, with poor ergonomics and inefficient print layouts wasting material and time. The project required balancing structural strength, manufacturing efficiency, and user comfort.
The Solution
Redesigned with increased material thickness and angular geometry for durability. Implemented multi-part assembly with M5 bolts and integrated threading, eliminating need for extra hardware. Optimized each piece to print without supports, reducing print time by 40% and material waste by 35%.
The Outcome
Final design achieved solid-like structural strength through five-wall loop slicer optimization while maintaining ergonomic grip comfort. Strategic print orientation aligns layer lines with stress forces, resulting in a durable, manufacturable design ready for functional use.
